Man United 'set aside £50m' for first Ruben Amorim transfer as scouts dispatched
New Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim could raid former club Sporting CP to make Geovany Quenda his first signing at Old Trafford.
Reports in Portuguese newspaper A Bola claim that the Reds have already held talks about the 17-year-old, with super agent Jorge Mendes potentially involved in a deal. The Manchester Evening News reported a month ago that United are tracking the player.
Wing-back Quenda made his debut under Amorim in August and later became the youngest player to score for Sporting CP when he netted in a 4-3 defeat to FC Porto. He has started four out of five Champions League games for Sporting CP this season, including last month's 4-1 trouncing of Manchester City.

A Bola claims that United have set aside £50m to to try and prise Quenda away from the Portuguese capital and reunite him with Amorim. However, the same publication credits United's Premier League rivals Liverpool with an interest in Quenda, with the Anfield club said to be eyeing a deal at the end of the season.
The 17-year-old has scored two goals and provided two assists in all competitions this term. Meanwhile, it is claimed United looked to steal a march on Liverpool by sending scouts to watch Eintracht Frankfurt's Omar Marmoush in Europa League action on Thursday.
The Mirror says scouts were sent to watch the Egyptian forward, who has also been linked with a move to Anfield, score the winner for the Bundesliga side against FC Midtjylland in Denmark.
The spot-kick took Marmoush's goal tally to 15 for the season, which he added to on Sunday afternoon when he bagged a brace against Heidenheim on his return to Bundesliga action. A deal for the forward could cost United £60m.
