Man United can sign Viktor Gyokeres alternative in January as bargain transfer deal emerges
Viktor Gyokeres is inevitably linked with Manchester United after Ruben Amorim's announcement as the club's new head coach.
The team's goalscoring struggles are a stark contrast to the Sporting side Amorim is leaving behind, and Gyokeres is leading the way in Lisbon with 66 goals in 67 games since the start of last season. However, the coach has clarified that his new employers would not return to his former home to sign their players during the winter transfer window.
While those promises do not extend to the summer, January seems a no-go for Gyokeres. Fortunately, there appears to be an agreement for the striker to stay for the rest of this season before moving, so United may not miss out.

But in the meantime, they could still sign another forward this winter. Randal Kolo-Muani could be that player, as the France international is reportedly someone Paris Saint-Germain are willing to loan out in the new year, TBR Football claims.
MEN says: United could do worse than getting Kolo-Muani on loan, assuming that the fee and wages they pay for the privilege would be reasonable. The striker has scored two goals in limited minutes for PSG this season and has also scored three goals in three Nations League games for France, proving the player that they paid £70-odd million for remains in there.
Another player who looks set to be on the move is Danilo, with JuveLive claiming Ruben Amorim wants the player at United. Despite being Juventus' captain, the former Manchester City player is reportedly on the way out.
MEN Sport: Danilo is out of contract this coming summer and was reputedly considering terminating that deal early mere weeks ago, meaning United may be able to complete some clever business for one of Amorim's first signings. The head coach faced the former Porto defender while playing at Braga and Benfica, and that familiarity with him as a player suggests that if Amorim wants Danilo, it may be worth trusting the new man, given the relatively low expenditure it would entail - no matter how controversial the deal may prove to be.
