Man United make surprise Chelsea 'transfer' enquiry as target shares true Ruben Amorim feelings
The penultimate international break of the season inevitably brings plenty of transfer speculation, as the winter window is now less than two months away from opening.
Ruben Amorim's arrival at Manchester United and the results that ended Erik ten Hag's tenure mean much of that interest focuses on Old Trafford. The club's leadership team also remains relatively new and has appointed its first head coach since coming together over the summer.
There is never any shortage of transfer rumours when it comes to United, which is the case now more than ever. Here is a round-up of the latest gossip going around.

Chelsea 'enquiry'
United have reportedly enquired about signing Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku. L'Equipe claims the player is unhappy about barely playing in the Premier League this season, with the Blues potentially open to an exit due to the options they have up front.
MEN says: Nkunku possibly becoming available on loan would be something United should consider to address their short-term goalscoring issues. However, doing any permanent deal would surely be best avoided unless there is a significant discount on the £52million that brought the France international to Stamford Bridge.
Sporting star sends Amorim message
Sporting captain Morten Hjulmand acknowledged on Sunday night that the team "wanted to give [Ruben] Amorim a victory in his last game." O Jogo had previously claimed that he was one of multiple players who questioned their coach's decision to leave midseason.
MEN says: Reports about Hjulmand's unhappiness with Amorim appear misplaced judging by these recent comments, which suggest there is still respect for him within the Sporting squad. That bodes well should United return to Lisbon in the summer, if not January, for the likes of Amorim's former captain or centre-forward Viktor Gyokeres, both of whom have been linked with the Reds this year.
