Manchester United could be set for a busy January transfer window based on some of the latest reports that are doing the rounds.

United face a spell of uncertainty following the departure of Erik ten Hag as manager. The club confirmed the Dutchman's exit on Monday, less than 24 hours after the defeat to West Ham in the Premier League.

The Manchester Evening News understands that Ruben Amorim has already agreed to become the new United manager. It was confirmed on Tuesday by Sporting Lisbon that United plan to activate the €10million (£8.3million) release clause in Amorim's contract, with talks continuing over a deal to bring the 39-year-old to Old Trafford.

Amid speculation about who the next United manager will be, rumours are also continuing to emerge about the transfer business that may be conducted either in the January window or next summer.

MEN Sport takes a look at some of the United news and gossip that has swirled and generated speculation over the last 24 hours.

United are reportedly willing to allow Antony to leave the club in the January transfer window. According to talkSPORT, the Reds have informed the Brazilian that he is able to leave Old Trafford when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

The report claims that United are already braced for interest in Antony from Ajax and Flamengo in January. However, there is an acceptance that the Reds will be forced to accept a significant loss on the €100million (£83million) fee they paid to Ajax for Antony's services back in 2022.

Elsewhere, United is being linked with four Sporting Lisbon players following the update on potentially appointing Amorim as the club's new manager. According to Give Me Sport, United have already identified four stars from the Portuguese club that they will look to target in 2025.

It has been claimed that Morten Hjulmand, Viktor Gyokeres, Goncalo Inacio and Geovany Quenda are all set to be targeted by United in the months ahead.
