Manchester United regulars Amad, Mason Mount and Marcus Rashford are potentially two matches away from completing a dream scenario for manager Ruben Amorim this festive season.

Currently the trio, along with Matthijs de Ligt and Christian Eriksen are teetering on two yellow cards in the Premier League this season. Should a player pick up five yellow cards before the cut-off, they receive a one match suspension in the competition which has already been served by Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martinez this campaign.

However, as mentioned, there is a cut-off and it comes on the 19th match of the season. Thus, should the five stars all avoid bookings in their next two matches, they would be unable to reach the limit before the cut-off.

After the 19th game, which is at home to Newcastle United on December 30, the limit is bumped to ten yellow cards however should this be reached before the 33rd game, players will receive a two-match suspension. United do have a couple of players who find themselves loitering close to the one-game suspension before Newcastle.

Manuel Ugarte and Diogo Dalot are two yellow cards away from a ban while Harry Maguire will be watching his step until December 30 as he has four yellow cards to his name already. With so many matches in quick succession this festive period, it is integral that Ruben Amorim has as many options available to him as possible to keep the team fresh.

The Reds' next test comes on Sunday in the derby as they travel to neighbours Manchester City who find themselves in their worst slump in years.
