Welsh teenager Gabriele Biancheri continues to impress at club and international level as he looks to strive forward with his career.

The young star netted for Wales U19s against Scotland U19s yesterday in UEFA Under-19 EURO 2025 qualifying, tucking in a cross from close range.

The Cardiff-born youngster has impressed so far for Manchester United this season, scoring 17 times in all competitions and will surely now be knocking at the door of new boss Ruben Amorim for a call-up to first-team training.

The teenager was reared in Cardiff City's academy, joining the ranks back in 2013, aged nine. He progressed quickly through the age groups, impressing coaches with his quick feet and finishing ability.

There were a number of top clubs sniffing around him as he impressed in the Bluebirds' Under-21s, aged just 16. Biancheri made the decision to swap the Welsh capital for Manchester, joining the Red Devils on a four-year deal back in February last year largely thanks to former Cardiff academy chief Dave Hughes having moved to the Premier League side.

In his first season in red he made three appearances in the Under-18s Premier League, scoring once, a quiet start to life with his new club. But the following term he proved why the infamous Manchester club swooped in for him, netting 14 times in 26 games in his first full season, guiding the Red Devils to the Under-18 Premier League title, defeating Chelsea in the final.

This season the Welshman has continued to improve; he boasts an impressive goalscoring record and is having a sensational campaign to date. The young talent has netted 17 times in all competitions this term, scoring against the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Spurs and PSV at youth level. It’s no surprise with that sort of goalscoring record there’s talk about him moving up to first-team level, having shown youth football is a breeze for him. Under the previous manager, Erik ten Hag, he trained with the first team, and coaches were left in awe of his potential.

Now Biancheri will have his sights set of making a first-team impression on new boss Amorim and becoming the 251st academy graduate.

He will be looking to follow in the footsteps of fellow Welshman Ryan Giggs, who made it through the Reds' academy and went on to make more than 600 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils, winning countless trophies.

Not only is Biancheri impressing in Manchester, he also scored his fourth goal for Wales yesterday. He netted from a low cross with composure, to put Wales second in their qualifying group.

The youngster is displaying his quality in any team he plays for, and not only will he be looking for a call up to the United first team, he will also be dreaming of his first senior Wales call up.

If Biancheri can continue his fine scoring form, Wales manager Craig Bellamy may be inclined to give him an early call up in March. With the star also eligible to represent Italy at international level, Bellamy may give the teenager a cap to secure the rising star's allegiance to Wales for years to come.
