Managerial curveball thrown in as Hull City handed fresh option to replace Tim Walter
Hull City should consider Alex Neil as an option to become their new manager, according to David Prutton, as the club continue to seek out a replacement for Tim Walter.
Walter was sacked after the defeat to Sheffield Wednesday last week, with owner Acun Ilicali on the lookout for a replacement in the days since the German left on Wednesday.
City's need is pressing given they find themselves inside the Championship's bottom three and only off the foot on goal difference after suffering a fifth straight defeat at Middlesbrough on Saturday, a result that extended their winless run to 10 games.

A host of managers are thought to be in the frame for the top MKM Stadium job, including Mark Robins and Slavisa Jokanovic, but Prutton has backed Alex Neil.
The experienced Scotsman, who has previously guided Hamilton, Norwich City and Sunderland to promotion, has been out of work since leaving Stoke City almost 12 months ago. But with an impressive CV under his belt, Neil would surely represent a smart, shrewd appointment for a club in the midst of a battle against relegation to League One.
"I've never played for Alex, I've never against of his teams but I've spent a lot of time with him, listening to him talk about football matches," Prutton told the 1904 Club podcast. "He's got an incredibly quick and incisive way of summing up what he's seen. Just because I think he's a good pundit, therefore, he's a good manager for Hull City. He's very to the point, cuts to the quick, doesn't really suffer fools. He's very committed in his decision-making and understands how he wants to play football and handles everything around it very well.
"I think he would be an extremely serviceable option for Hull City to get someone like him in because the first port of call now is some form of consolidation and some form of balance to what they're doing."
