Pep Guardiola has made seven changes from the Manchester City side that won 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Thursday for today’s FA Cup third-round tie against Chelsea.

Julian Alvarez starts for the first time since winning the World Cup with Argentina, with Erling Haaland is on the bench.

Stefan Ortega is in goal, while Kyle Walker captains the side in a back four alongside Aymeric Laporte, Manuel Akanji and Sergio Gomez.

Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Cole Palmer start in midfield and Alvarez leads the line.

Alvarez is flanked by Riyad Mahrez, who scored the winner on Thursday, and Phil Foden.

Kalvin Phillips is on the bench after Pep Guardiola said the midfielder has “improved his level” after criticising him for being overweight on his return from England World Cup duty.
