Doubts over Ruud van Nistelrooy's future remain as he will be in charge of his final game for Manchester United in the visit of Leicester City before the international break.

Ruben Amorim will take over at Old Trafford next Monday (November 11), and there are question marks over the former Reds striker Van Nistelrooy. The Portuguese manager will bring in his coaching staff, whom have been with him since his early coaching days at Casa Pia.

He will have just under two weeks to work with his new players during this month's international break. However, there is expected to be some key absences in the squad as they will be representing their national team.

Amorim will then take charge of his first game against Ipswich Town at Portman Road on November 24. With that said, MEN Sport has taken a look at some of the latest United headlines.

Ruben Amorim praise

Former Southampton centre-back Jose Fonte has shared further insight on Amorim. Speaking to BBC Radio Five live, the former Portugal international said: "It was only a question of time that he would be moving to a bigger club," said Fonte. "What I like about him is that he has his philosophy, he has his own ideas. I was speaking with one of his ex-players, Luis Neto, and he was telling me that he’s one of them managers that has this attention to detail, you know, and sometimes it can be even a little bit too much, he was telling me.

"But that’s what makes the difference in my opinion. I think he has the ability to be a great success at Man United, I know him personally. I have played against Sporting a couple of times now and I know how hard it is to play against this team. The way Sporting plays at the moment, for example, it’s incredible. They have threats in behind, they have threats in between the lines, they build up, they press, they know exactly what to do in every situation of the game, so I’m really looking forward to seeing him in the job.

"My brother, he was managed by him, I spoke many times with my brother about Ruben, even before he was linked with Man United and what he said to me is that he’s obsessed. He’s obsessed with football, with training, with coaching and this is something very important if you want to be one of the best and and he’s such a young manager but in every job he’s had, he’s had so much success and that tells you something – he has something special."

MEN Sport says: It's no surprise to see Amorim be adored and highly regarded by a lot of people in his homeland due to the achievements in his managerial career so far. But Fonte's latest comments will fill supporters with hope that he's the right man to take the club back to where it belongs and to winning trophies. With that said, it's important that fans are aware that things will not be resolved overnight and that they must remain patient in the beginning of the new process and era under Amorim.

Leny Yoro boost

The Evening Standard reports that Yoro is 'expected' to return to the United squad after the upcoming international break. The first game back is at Ipswich Town and is Amorim's first fixture as head coach.

Yoro signed for United in the summer from Lille for a fee worth £52m after they fended off competition from Real Madrid. However, his start to life in England has been halted due to an injury picked up in pre-season. Yoro has since returned to individual training on the grass, but there hasn't been any progress in his return to action.

MEN Sport says: This will be a major boost for United, who have suffered with an extensive injury list in recent weeks, and this has obviously impacted results along the way. With so many injuries in the squad right now, any return will be welcomed ahead of Amorim's arrival next week. With that said, fans will be excited to see more of the France international after he displayed glimpses of his potential prior to his injury.

The upcoming international break will be welcomed by the club as it will hopefully give players who are nursing injuries to come back into action ahead of a busy and hectic footballing schedule.
