Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has hinted that he may be starting for the club this evening when they face Leicester City in the last-16 of the Carabao Cup.

Andre Onana was preferred by Erik ten Hag since he arrived from Inter Milan last summer. Often, Premier League managers choose to pick their back-up goalkeepers in cup competitions, to allow for rotation and to give second choice players their opportunity to impress.

Ten Hag rarely subscribed to that model, though, with the ex-Fenerbahce stopper playing just two games during his tenure. His first appearance came in last season's FA Cup tie against League Two side, Newport County, before featuring again this season in the 7-0 thrashing of Barnsley in the Carabao Cup third round.

Bayindir has, so far, not yet been entrusted for any game against a team in the second tier, or above, but interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy could be about to break that trend. Taking to Instagram, the Turkey player shared a graphic on his story previewing tonight's impending last-16 meeting with Leicester.

While not a fool-proof method of determining the team for the upcoming game, players often share these type of graphics to their story when they are in line to feature. It can be used by foreign players to inform their families and supporters following back home to tune in to see them in action.

Casemiro and Diogo Dalot have also shared their own match graphics on their social accounts to suggest they will also feature.
