Manchester United youngster Chido Obi-Martin continued his excellent run of form when scoring for Denmark's Under-18s on Friday.

Obi-Martin is considered as an exceptional prospect and he's been prolific in the academy since signing from Arsenal in the summer, a move that was seen as a significant coup.

The 16-year-old has scored four goals in two starts in the U18 Premier League and that haul includes a special hat-trick that was scored when he made his debut for the club.

Obi-Martin was called up to Denmark's U18 team for the November international break and scored in the first half on his nation's dramatic 2-1 defeat to Finland on Friday. Obi-Martin's goal looked set to be the matchwinner but Finland scored twice in quick succession in the final minutes.

Obi-Martin is expected to start for Denmark again during the international break and will continue to push towards his ultimate aim of making a debut for United when he returns to Manchester.

Although Obi-Martin will celebrate his 17th birthday the end of the month, he was signed because he has first-team potential and he has made an excellent start to life at United.

United's coaches will be challenged with keeping Obi-Martin's feet on the ground as he progresses as the youngster has a huge profile and more than 300,000 followers on Instagram.

The club's academy prides itself on developing outstanding talents and good young people, and Obi-Martin is in the right place to progress to a potential first-team debut down the line.

United are always on the lookout to add the best-emerging talent to their academy and completing a deal for Obi-Martin, who is regarded as one the most exciting young talents in Europe, was a further signal of the club's intent to continue to be best-in-class in youth football.

It's also understood United's head of the academy Nick Cox and the head of academy recruitment Luke Fedorenko were responsible for the deal to sign Obi-Martin from Arsenal.
