ManningCast schedule: Will there be a 'Monday Night Football' ManningCast in Week 9?
The NFL will put a bow on Week 9 with a Super Bowl 55 rematch on "Monday Night Football" in Kansas City. The Chiefs are set to continue their quest for an undefeated season as they welcome the banged up Buccaneers to town. While Tom Brady won't be walking through that door for Tampa, we will get the chance to hear two legendary quarterbacks on the call thanks to the Peyton and Eli Manning-hosted "ManningCast," on ESPN.
Kansas City hasn't been without their struggles this season, but a perfect 7-0 record is keeping critics quiet to this point. After adding receiver DeAndre Hopkins via trade, the Chiefs are loading up following the season-ending injuries to Rashee Rice and Marquise "Hollywood" Brown. Patrick Mahomes hasn't been "Superman" this year, notably turning the ball over at least once in every game. Regardless, in what appears to be a weaker league overall, that has yet to become an issue.
On the Tampa sideline, the Buccaneers will have to hope that Baker Mayfield can cut down on his own turnover problem. It's surfaced in recent weeks, with the quarterback tossing at least two interceptions in each of the last three games. With injuries to Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, it'll be a intriguing storyline to see how the team can minimize the growing depth problem at receiver.
As we get set to head into the second half of the season, the Manning brothers should be able to give fans a glimpse into where these two teams are at before heading down the stretch. Here's everything you need to know about the "ManningCast" in Week 9.
ManningCast schedule: Week 9
Guests for the night haven't been revealed at the time of writing. Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will likely be a guest in the first half as he has been during each "ManningCast".
Last week's guests included former New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor, rapper LL Cool J, and former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher.
There will be just three more regular season broadcasts for the Peyton and Eli Manning-hosted show, with one on tap for the Wild Card round. The Mannings will be on the air at their usual time when the game kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET.
