Marco Silva claims Fulham 'desevered' win over Albion
Marco Silva has claimed that Fulham were the "better team" in the win over Albion.
Bart Verbruggen's error leading to Alex Iwobi's early goal and Matt O'Riley's own-goal either side of Carlos Baleba's strike put the hosts on their way to victory.
Iwobi made sure of the result with a late second despite Albion dominating the ball for much of the game.
Fabian Hurzeler's side finished the game with 13 shots to Fulham's six but only managed one more on target.
Speaking after the game, the Cottagers' manager insisted that Albion put up a "tough" challenge but that his side were deserving of the win.
Silva said: “They are a really tough team to play against, top quality individuals, not losing many games.
“We started the game the best way possible but the first half was really difficult for us. They had chances to equalise and were the better team.
“The second half was completely different.
“Even when they equalised we were the best team on the pitch and we reacted well. It’s a big three points for us against top opposition.
"Credit to Brighton but I think we deserved the win.
“We are pleased with the position, we know our reality and we are going to push ourselves.”
Albion remains 5th in the Premier League table, having picked up just one point from their last two games.
As a result of the defeat, Fulham are now just two points behind the Seagulls and are sitting in 6th.
