Marco Tilio distraught as Celtic kid's injury curse strikes again for Melbourne City
Marco Tilio left the pitch in tears after the Celtic youngster suffered yet another injury setback for loan club Melbourne City.
The luckless attacker, 23, was visibly distraught as he limped off the park against Western United with just 40 minutes on the clock. Tilio - a £1.5million signing from Melbourne City in summer 2023 - returned to the A-League outfit on loan earlier this year after struggling for form and fitness at Parkhead.
But the Socceroo has been curtailed with injury issues for most of the year. Tilio was ruled out for two months in February after sustaining a hamstring tendon injury and later missed the 2024 U23 Asian Cup campaign with a quad blow.

The pint-sized forward appeared to be getting back to his best during a promising pre-season with City but now faces another lengthy period on the sidelines after collapsing to the ground holding his left hamstring following a driving run through the midfield in Monday's clash at AAMI Park.
Tilio has managed just two sub appearances totalling 28 minutes of football under Brendan Rodgers and is under contract until 2028.
