Marcus Rashford has sent a message to the Manchester United fans and hinted that the supporters could be about to watch more attractive football in the near future.

United are entering a new era with Ruben Amorim set to take over as the new head coach on Monday. In the meantime, Ruud van Nistelrooy has been in charge on an interim basis, earning a thumping 5-2 win over Leicester in his first game before drawing 1-1 with Chelsea on Sunday.

Although the performance against Enzo Maresca's side was not as free flowing, there were positive signs in an attacking sense from United. One move that stood out was in the first half when United played through Chelsea down the left flank, with Noussair Mazraoui, Casemiro and Rashford involved.

Rashford started the move, playing the ball down the line to Mazraoui, who flicked a delicate pass inside to Casemiro. The Brazilian then passed the ball back to Mazraouri, with the ex-Ajax and Bayern Munich defender taking a couple of touches before feeding Rashford, who beat Malo Gusto before seeing his cross blocked.

On Wednesday, Rashford posted this exact move in a 44 second video on X, formerly known as Twitter, and captioned it with a link emoji and the UP! button emoji.

In response, one United fan said: "Amorim has a plan." A second wrote: "Well done you all completed a good passing passage of play loving that perfectly weighted first time pass from Casemiro tho." A third added: "You better start running more, Amorim is coming." A fourth said: "New era pending!"

United confirmed the arrival of Amorim as their head coach on Friday following the sacking of Erik ten Hag. The 39-year-old will take charge of his first game against Ipswich after the November international break, with Van Nistelrooy leading the team for the clashes with PAOK and Leicester this week.

Speaking after he was appointed as the new United boss, Amorim said: "I asked United if it could be at the end of the season. It was what I wanted. United said no. It was now or never. So I had to make a decision. This is exactly the context I wanted [United struggling] because I can do things my way.

"There is no Sporting fan who wanted me to stay until the end of the season more than I did. But it wasn’t possible. Some people say it’s for money. It’s not. Other clubs were prepared to pay three times more and I refused. This is the club [United] I wanted."
