'Mark Robins deserved better - I just hope Coventry City know what they are doing!'
Well, like most Coventry City fans, I'm in shock this morning at the news that Mark Robins has been sacked as manager after more than seven years and a seven year period, real golden period in the football club's history.
The manager came in, in 2017 and lifted the club up by the bootstraps, galvanised the fans at a time when, the fan base and the ownership relationship was toxic.
He has given the fans the best seven years in living memory, certainly since, 1987 and the glorious FA Cup success at Wembley Stadium.

I mean, they've had four trips to Wembley, two promotions under Mark Robins and he's performed miracles on a shoestring budget., so it is a really sad day, and I really do feel that it's a short sighted move by the club to get rid of the manager.
At this stage, there have been clear signs of improvement of a recovery from a poor start. Yes, results have been inconsistent. Yes, they've not been good enough. And certainly last night against Derby County wasn't good enough.
But this is a manager who's got vast experience, and has done a great job - and he deserved better than this. He really does.
We can only hope that the football club know what they're doing That they get the right man in to take the club forward, to move it forward.
My fear is that we go back to a stage where we had a revolving door where managers would come and go. I think it was 14 managers in 16 years before Mark Robins took over. We don't want to go back to a period like that.
In the last seven or so years, we've had stability at Coventry City, and that is now under threat.
And we can only hope that the club know what they're doing.
