Mauricio Pochettino snapped back at a reporter after it was suggested he was 'frustrated' by Axel Disasi's disallowed goal in Saturday night's draw with Aston Villa.

Pochettino was visibly upset when Axel Disasi's late goal, which would have secured a 3-2 win for the Blues after coming back from a 2-0 deficit, was disallowed. The Frenchman had headed in a cutback from his international teammate Benoit Badiashile, but the goal was ruled out after Badiashile was deemed to have pushed Diego Carlos in the lead-up.

The Argentine was irate with this decision and claimed VAR is "ruining the image of English football". When the TNT Sports reporter began their question by stating: "You're clearly frustrated about it", Pochettino replied: "I'm not frustrated, I am relaxed, I am calm."

He continued: "I want to say nothing wrong. It's only to help. The performance was very good and we played really well it is true in the first half we conceded easy. The things we tried to change the team didn't concede too much. To play Villa who are fighting for the top four I am pleased with the team and the players were good."

"I think that it was what we expected and today was a good opportunity against a good team. Now, we have to move on and it will be in the headlines with the disallowed goal."

Chelsea would have risen over West Ham United into 8th place had their late winner not been overturned. The Londoners' push for European football will continue in the coming weeks as they chase down the likes of Manchester United and Newcastle United.

Next up for the Blues is a clash with Tottenham Hotspur on May 2, followed by another derby match with West Ham three days later. Nottingham Forest, Brighton and Bournemouth then represent the club's final three fixtures of the season.
