Micah Richards details Mohamed Salah contract terms Liverpool must offer - 'It is imperative'
Micah Richards has said that it is "imperative" Liverpool renews Mohamed Salah's contract following his match-winning goal against Brighton on Saturday.
The Egyptian found the back of the net for the ninth time already this season in all competitions to hand his side all three points against the Seagulls, taking the Reds back to the top of the Premier League and two points ahead of Manchester City.
Despite his remarkable start to the campaign, however, which has yielded 16 goal contributions in 15 games, Salah will still leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the campaign if he does not agree to new terms this year.

And although he will turn 33 next June, Richards believes Liverpool has to hand its talisman fresh terms. Speaking on Match of the Day, the former Man City defender said: “He's unbelievable, he really is.
"He's excellent. Past Robbie Fowler, chasing Thierry Henry. There have been talks about contracts being under review or not — they have got to sign him. It is imperative that they give him a two-year deal at the end of the season. He’ll be 33 in the summer, it will take him to 35."
Richards isn't wrong. Despite his age, Salah only seems to have taken things up a gear this season and has suggested he can continue performing at the highest level well into his 30s.
With this in mind, Liverpool simply has to keep him on its books past the end of the current campaign. Losing a player of his pedigree on a free transfer would not only be a disaster, but replacing him is near-on impossible.
Salah has previously suggested he is happy and settled on Merseyside and is not actively looking to move away at the end of the season, even if he will have no choice but to should his contract expire before being renewed.
With Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk also in similar positions with their contracts, Liverpool finds itself in a very difficult position, but it simply has to do all it can to keep Salah at the club, especially given the impact he's already had in the early stages of the new campaign.
