Mike Tyson is taking the positives from his defeat to YouTuber Jake Paul as he insists he "lost but still won" after making his return to the ring.

The 58-year-old laced up the gloves one last time in a big money exhibition bout with Paul, who won unanimously on the judges' scorecards. Tyson looked every second of his 58 years as the former heavyweight champ's body just couldn't what his mind wanted to quick enough against the 27-year-old, who lost to Love Island star Tommy Fury in his last fight.

Many question the wisdom and safety of Tyson fighting again two years shy of his 60th birthday. But Iron Mike has taken to social media in order to share his gratitude at getting to do what he loves once more, referencing coming close to death in the summer after a health scare. And the boxing legend is just glad his children got to see him throw down in Dallas.

"This is one of those situations when you lost but still won," he posted. "I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time.

"I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won.

"To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for. Thank you."
