The hype was real when it came to Mike Tyson versus Jake Paul.

Not real in the sense that the fight was any good, but real in that people were actually interested to see a 58-year-old fight a man 31 years his junior. The betting numbers reflect that interest.

At BetMGM, Tyson-Paul was the most-bet combat sport ever, attracting three-times as many bets as any other combat event in sportsbook history and four-times the money.

"Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight is the most bet combat sport (boxing + MMA) in BetMGM history," BetMGM senior trader Alex Rella said. "Paul winning was a good outcome for the sportsbook."

Tyson was a +180 underdog for Friday's showdown, yet received the majority of betting action, with 67% of tickets and 53% of money siding with Tyson. That meant Paul's unanimous decision victory was a win for the sportsbook too.

Tyson and Paul almost certainly took home a nice purse as well.
