We are just six weeks away from the January transfer window opening, and it's one in which Arsenal could be busier than usual.

The Gunners added four new players to the squad in the summer, with Riccardo Calafiori, Mikel Merino, Raheem Sterling and Neto joining - as well as David Raya's loan move being made permanent. The three permanent deals for Calafiori, Merino and Raya added somewhere in the region of £100million to the Gunners' spending tally since Mikel Arteta became manager.

However, there were also plenty of outgoings to balance the books, with Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah and Aaron Ramsdale bringing in sizeable fees - with academy graduates Smith Rowe and Nketiah counting as pure profit on the Arsenal books.

The Gunners have struggled somewhat this season, though, with Arteta's side sitting fourth in the Premier League table, nine points adrift of Liverpool after many fans had hoped this would be the season Arteta's side beat Pep Guardiola to the title.

Further reinforcements in January could help, but the money available to the Arsenal manager is not endless. And there has also been turmoil off the pitch, with sporting director Edu resigning recently, causing instability right when the Gunners needed it least.

As such, Arsenal could do with raising some money for the January transfer window - and there are a few options available that likely wouldn't hurt Arteta's squad too much should the manager allow them to leave.

First up is Kieran Tierney. It's no secret that the Gunners were looking to sell the left-back in the summer, but a hamstring injury before the end of the window put paid to any move. The 27-year-old spent last season on loan at Real Sociedad, and as he closes in on a full recovery from his injury it is expected that another move will be sought.

The Scotland international is valued at £8.4million by transfermarkt, and managing to get that fee should not be beyond the realms of possibility, especially with there being 18 months remaining on his current contract.

Another option would be to allow Oleksandr Zinchenko to leave. The Ukraine international has fallen down the pecking order in recent months, with Calafiori's arrival and Jurrien Timber's return from injury putting him third at best in the left-back rankings.

While he has struggled with injuries this season, there have still only been two starts for the 27-year-old, one of which came in the Carabao Cup. According to transfermarkt, Zinchenko is worth £29.2million - slightly lower than what Arsenal paid for him back in 2022.

Another player struggling for minutes is Jakub Kiwior. He's only made two starts, both of which came in the Carabao Cup, with his role all-but confirmed as a back-up both on the left side and in the centre of defence.

While it is of course beneficial to have a player comfortable enough to fill in and not play regularly, transfermarkt value the Polish international at £25million - what would be a decent profit after paying £20million for the defender nearly two years ago.

One final option could be to allow Jorginho to leave. The midfielder is valued at around £10million, although he will only have six months remaining on his contract in January.

The Italian international has proved his value during his time on the pitch for the Gunners, looking calm and assured as one of his two league starts this season came in the North London Derby win against Tottenham. However, if Arsenal could find a buyer, it may represent a good opportunity to get a fee for a player who would likely be leaving next summer on a free transfer.

One final player who Arteta could sanction an exit for is Myles Lewis-Skelly - though with the talent he possesses a loan move would be the option here. That's because the 18-year-old has only started one game so far this season, and at his age six months of first-team appearances may be more beneficial.
