Mohamed Salah sends Liverpool cryptic message as FSG rapidly approach transfer deadline
Mohamed Salah has posted a cryptic message on social media following Liverpool's 2-0 win over Aston Villa. The 32-year-old forward fired Arne Slot's side to victory at Anfield on Saturday afternoon, establishing a five-point lead in the Premier League title race.
Darwin Nunez put Liverpool ahead in the first half before Salah etched his name onto the scoresheet in the final moments. After the game, the Egypt international marked the result with a pair of celebratory posts on Instagram – the first of which being a dressing room selfie with his fellow goalscorer.
In the second, Salah uploaded two pictures of his celebration, where he soaked up the Kop Stand atmosphere before perching on an advertising board. In typical fashion, the Reds talisman left the post open to interpretation by not writing a caption.

Interestingly, Salah currently faces an increasingly uncertain future at Liverpool, with his deal set to expire at the end of the season. From January, foreign clubs will be eligible to open pre-contract talks with the forward over a free transfer in the summer – unless he signs an extension beforehand.
If the Egyptian doesn't pen an extension, the Reds will be forced to make a tough decision. Liverpool must consider whether they would rather risk losing Salah for free, if talks prolong, or cut their losses and cash in during the January transfer window. Although the latter would seem to be unthinkable.
He was heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League last year, but a deal never materialised. Speaking to reporters after the Aston Villa clash, Slot reflected on his side's start to the season – rather than address Salah's future.
"It’s not sure yet in this league because Arsenal, City, Chelsea, all these clubs that are playing in this league, they are able to win so many games as well and that’s what they have shown in the last few seasons," said the Dutchman, as quoted by the official club website.
"So, we are only focused on ourselves and then a win against a very good team like Villa, who have done so well in the last few years, is always important," Slot added. "It was definitely a big week but every game is a big week.
"We play so many games in all these competitions against so much strong opponents, so hopefully we will have a lot of these weeks to come because these weeks are mostly big if you are competing for something and that is what we are doing at the moment. We are competing, trying to compete for the league, trying to compete for the Champions League and trying to compete for the cups we are in as well.
"We also know it’s a long season where we have to continuously be on top of our game because the likes of Arsenal, City and Chelsea and all these other clubs are able to win just as many games as we did in the first 15 to 16 games. So, we have to stay on top of our game, which is never going to be easy but we’ll push for it as much as we can."
