Mohamed Salah has issued a message days after handing Liverpool a welcome boost during the international break. The Reds are currently on a two-week hiatus from club football for the final round of international fixtures of the calendar year.

Salah starred for Liverpool in their 2-0 win over Aston Villa in the Premier League at the weekend in their final match before the November international break. The Reds No.11 now has 10 goals and 10 assists in all competitions this season, with said form helping Arne Slot's team climb to the summit of the top flight standings as well as the league phase table of the Champions League.

It was confirmed this week that Salah would not be linking up with the Egypt squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures against Cape Verde and Botswana. Instead, Salah is seemingly using the time to stay fit and prepare for the return of club football later this month.

On Tuesday, Salah posted a photo on his Instagram story which showed how he is spending the two-week hiatus from Liverpool's fixture. In the photo, Salah is shirtless while in the gym as he works on his fitness.

The 'update' from Salah comes amid increased uncertainty surrounding his future at Liverpool. The 32-year-old's contract at Anfield expires at the end of the season and it remains to be seen if an extension will be agreed.

The ECHO reported in September that Salah is desperate to remain at Liverpool beyond the length of his current deal. Talks remain underway between the club and Salah's representatives, but as things stand, the forward will be able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside England from January onwards over a free transfer next summer.
