Mohamed Salah transfer 'update' emerges for Liverpool that could impact Cristiano Ronaldo
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is reportedly the subject of interest from Saudi Arabia once again. The Reds forward's future has been the subject of intense speculation in recent months, with the contract situation remaining up in the air.
Salah's current deal is set to expire at the end of the season, and he would be able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside England in January if no agreement with Liverpool is reached. The Egyptian has scored nine goals with nine assists in 16 appearances so far this season for the Reds, with such form leading to increased rumours over whether or not a new agreement will be reached.
Talks remain ongoing between Liverpool and Salah's representatives ahead of the January transfer window. Salah is not the only Reds star out of contract at the end of the season, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk also nearing the end of their current deals.

According to Give Me Sport, Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal are considering a move to sign Salah as a free agent next summer. The report claims that the Saudi Arabian club are looking to sign Salah instead of a move for Cristiano Ronaldo, who has spent the last two years at Al Nassr.
It has been reported that Salah will inform Liverpool of his decision when one is made in the coming months. The report claims that Al-Hilal will be respectful of Salah and the Reds while the decision-making process regarding the forward's future remains ongoing.
The ECHO reported in September that Salah is desperate to put pen to paper on a new deal to remain at Liverpool. It's understood that Salah remains focused on extending his contract to remain at Anfield beyond the lengths of his current deal.
In the summer of 2023, Liverpool rejected a deal worth £150 million from Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad. After his nine goals for the Reds this season, Salah now has a total of 220 to his name across his time on Merseyside and is fifth on the list behind only Billy Liddell, Gordon Hodgson, Roger Hunt and Ian Rush on the list of the club's all-time top scorers.
