Mohamed Salah’s agent has sent another message as his client’s future at Liverpool remains up in the air.

Salah, along with Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, is set to be out of contract at the end of the current season, with no indication yet whether he might sign a new deal at Anfield. The trio will be able to negotiate pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs in January unless they put pen to paper with the Reds before then.

With Salah being regularly linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, FSG may have to act quickly if they are to tie him down to a new deal. Liverpool fans already made their feelings clear before the Egyptian’s latest performance.

Ahead of Saturday's win over Aston Villa, supporters in the Kop raised a flag aimed at Liverpool’s owners which read: “FSG, he fires a bow, now give Mo his dough.” Salah responded with another eye-catching display to further his cause for a new contract.

The 32-year-old scored and assisted once again to take his tally on both counts to double figures across all competitions, becoming the first player in Europe to reach that landmark this season.

His form places him top of the charts for goal involvements in the Premier League so far, sitting ahead of Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, and his agent is no doubt as to his status in world football.

Responding to a post on X from the Premier League showing Salah top of the goal involvement charts, the winger’s agent Ramy Abbas Issa reposted it alongside the message: “Best player in the world.”

It’s a message that has been backed up by Arsenal legend Robert Pires, who has voiced his displeasure after Salah was snubbed in the nominations for this year’s Ballon d’Or.

"Mohamed Salah is the best player in the Premier League,” Pires told MBC MASR 2. "He has a fantastic mentality, and his level doesn't surprise me because he's one of the best players in Europe and the world.

"In Egypt, you know he's the best in the national team, but what he does with Liverpool is truly exceptional. He's maintained his level for many years, playing different roles, scoring goals and providing assists. Salah was treated unfairly by being left out of the Ballon d'Or list.

"It's a loss for the list, not for Salah. This isn't the players' fault; it's the journalists' mistake. Many great players, like Thierry Henry, Xavi, and Andres Iniesta, never won the award either. Salah's absence from the Ballon d'Or final shortlist shows that some people don't know much about football."
