GREENOCK Morton's William Hill Championship fixture against Partick Thistle has been called off due to a frozen pitch.

The cancellation comes as Storm Bert continues to blanket Inverclyde and the west of Scotland with snow and ice, disrupting traffic and travel across the region.

Dougie Imrie's men were set to take on the Jags this afternoon at 3pm, but officials have decided to postpone the clash following a pitch inspection at 11am.

In a statement on X (formerly known as Twitter), a Morton spokesperson said: "Following an 11.00am pitch inspection, today's William Hill Championship match against Partick Thistle has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.

"A new date will be confirmed in due course."

In a second post, they added: “All tickets purchased for today's postponed match against Partick Thistle will remain valid for the re-arranged date.
 
“Ticket refunds are available, if you would like to request a refund please contact admin@gmfc.net.“
