Narcis Pelach admits Stoke 'had to rescue point' despite two-goal lead vs Bristol City
Narcis Pelach admits it felt like Stoke City ended up rescuing a point from a game they were leading 2-0 at half-time.
Stoke had looked in control when Lewis Koumas and Andrew Moran put them ahead inside the opening 14 minutes but they faced a wave of attacks even before the break, with Viktor Johansson needing to make a series of saves in goal.
Nahki Wells then brought the game level with a quickfire double early in the second half and Pelach switched to a back five to make sure that letting two points slip didn't become losing all three.

He said: "The start of the game was really good. We started fast, we started energetic, we started much better than them. They were passive, we were the opposite. That gave us the chance for us to be 2-0 up after 15 minutes. We were good at stepping up pressure, we forced them to into a long ball, we won the duels, we won the second ball, we were fast to attack, goal. The start is great. The first 10 or 15 minutes.
"But after that second goal we lost control, got comfortable. I said to the team at half-time that it wasn't good enough. We needed to go and kill it - but then in the second half we lost even more control. I'm disappointed with the way the game went.
"Bristol City are a good side. I knew that. Before the game I was worried. I knew they are in good form. They won the other day against Middlesbrough away. Yes, they are a good side but we were not at our best today and I have a feeling we rescued a point. That's why in the second half after they scored one goal, the second goal so quickly, players having doubts, being fragile, I decided to go to a back five.
"Look, we have a point now, it's another game unbeaten, but of course I'm disappointed, I'm not happy at all about what I've seen apart from the first 15 minutes which is what I expect to see."
