Neraysho Kasanwirjo suffers Rangers injury setback as Philippe Clement confirms 'long-term' lay off
Rangers manager Philippe Clement has confirmed that versatile defender Neraysho Kasanwirjo has suffered a “long-term injury”.
The 22-year-old, who has racked up 12 appearances for the Light Blues since sealing his season-long loan switch on deadline day from Feyenoord, was in action for the Netherlands Under-21 side against England but was forced off in the 79th minute after collapsing to the deck. Kasanwirjo appeared to have overstretched when attempting to win a 50/50, with Gers fans' worst fears now true as the player is ruled out for a significant period of time.
The player was assessed at the time on the field by the Netherlands' medical team and he was clearly upset as he was helped off the pitch and headed straight down the tunnel. The Ibrox boss has now confirmed the news which comes as a blow for the side, as he was “adapting really well”.

"Kasanwirjo is going to have an appointment with a surgeon today, and we will have more news over the weekend, for sure a longer-term injury," Clement said this afternoon.
"A blow for everyone, especially for him. This is football, it is really hard as he was adapting really well."
