Newcastle United announce mini upgrade outside St James' Park in PSR boost
Newcastle United chiefs are about to roll out a new addition to the club's popular STACK fanzone outside St James' Park.
The popular venue on Strawberry Place has catered for thousands of hungry and thirsty fans since the doors swung open for business in August. Fans who can't land a ticket for St James' Park have been using he 3,000 capacity venue as a base on match day with supporters queuing early to get their place.
The mild autumn weather has made for a pleasant environment at the venue for fans with Newcastle CEO Darren Eales toasting STACK as major success. But with colder and more inclement weather just around the corner, the club have made moves to ensure the fanzone will be as comfortable as ever.

A STACK spokesman said: "Winter is coming, but don’t worry – we’ve got you covered (literally)! Stay tuned for an announcement about our winter stretch tent coming to St. James’ STACK.
"Whether it's rain, shine, (or even snow), you can count on us to keep things toasty warm for everyone who visits!"
Speaking about STACK and the club shop, which opened last week, Eales said: "It's part of our journey. Everything we're doing in the club, like Stack, is to be best in class. This is just another example. Shout out to ownership and Adidas in terms of the investment this took. We're really excited for our supporters."
Commerical chief Peter Silverstone is delighted to see Newcastle continue to keep ticking over in terms of PSR. He said earlier this season: "From my side, we have just launched an incredible membership scheme. Again that will integrate into STACK.
"If you are a fan who was not successful in the ballot you now have the ability to go into a first come, first served sale. Because demand far exceeds supply and you might not get into a game we can now offer members the opportunity to come to STACK and watch the game if it is being broadcasted. We are trying to find ways to ensure commercial revenue is built on all the assets we have.""
