Newcastle United will have money to spend in the January transfer window with Eddie Howe assured he will get the chance to bring in new faces in 2025.

The Magpies held back spending last January in light of the PSR rule book and fear of points deduction while the summer saw a reduced spending spree with William Osula and Odysseas Vlachodimos the only cash buys.

However, that is likely to change and while Yasir Al-Rumayyan has spoken about PIF reducing spending away from the Saudi domestic scene, it is believed that it will not be a factor for the Magpies. The words of the Newcastle chairman were not about their existing portfolio companies.

Chronicle Live has been told PIF's commitment to the club and its future is stronger than ever. Newcastle's first main transfer meetings involving Howe will take place next month.

The head coach said today: "I'd say a very small part from my input (on transfers). At the moment we're in a flood of games and I'm focusing very much on the team, the training, the games we have. We've had a couple of internal meetings behind the scenes but no more than that.

"They are all important, there's never one that doesn't feel that way because you never know what will happen. My part in that will probably take prominence from the end of November.

"At the moment there'll be a lot of work being done behind the scenes that I'm not necessarily a part of. I'll start to get involved probably the end of November, start of December."
