Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon stunned after amusing Jamie Carragher 'shambles'
Anthony Gordon has jokingly called Jamie Carragher a 'shambles' after the Liverpool legend thought Joelinton was faster than him.
Gordon clocked the fastest speed of any Newcastle United player in the Premier League last season - a rapid 36.68km/hr - and Carragher said that 'should' be the case because the forward was 'the fastest when I watch him'. However, when asked who recorded the highest speed in the latest round of Sky Sports' player versus pundit quiz, Carragher ruled out Kieran Trippier but suggested Joelinton 'might be up there' after seeing the Brazilian's name 'high up on these things'. That left Gordon gobsmacked.
"He thought those two were faster than me?!" Gordon responded. "That is a shambles."

Gordon, though, did not look his usual lightning quick self in Monday night's 2-0 defeat against West Ham at St James' Park. The Scouser, who had two decent chances to score, on a night Newcastle mustered just two shots on target, was taken off by Eddie Howe midway through the second half. It was the earliest the England international had been substituted all season.
"Making reference to the international players, it is a difficult thing for them," the Newcastle boss explained. "They go away, do a lot of travelling, play games, come back and their focus has to immediately be back on to Newcastle.
"I expected us to deliver a better performance because we had a little bit more time to prepare. It wasn't like it was a Saturday game - it was a Monday game. Of course, you have to understand the mental fatigue that these players suffer, but that's something we will look at."
