Newport boss jokes he may look to Wilfried Bony for information on League Cup opponents
Newport County boss Michael Flynn has said the Exiles may use former Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony for information on their Carabao Cup opponents West Ham United.
Bony is currently without a club and training with the League Two side who play the Hammers, managed by the Ivorian’s former boss Manuel Pellegrini, in their League Cup second round tie.
Bony was signed by Pellegrini for £28 million in January 2015, when he was in charge at the club, and Flynn believes the striker could have some useful information, if he can be convinced to give up any details on the Argentine.
The Newport manager joked: “Wilf's a good professional and I'm sure he's very fond of Mr Pellegrini.
"But I might try and catch him off guard and see if he can let something loose!”

Bony was released by his latest club Swansea City at the end of last season, but has stayed in Wales to keep fit while assessing his options ahead of his next move.
Flynn has been pleased to have the 30-year-old around the training ground:
He added: "It's just been really positive having him around and watching his work ethic and the intensity that he trains at.
"The boys have been able to watch someone who has been at the top of the game, working so hard day in, day out to better themselves."
The Exiles will fancy their chances of getting a result against West Ham having knocked higher opposition three times in the FA Cup in the last two seasons, as well as holding Tottenham 1-1 draw at home.
