NFL standings: Surprises and upsets highlight Week 2 action
The second week of the 2024 NFL season is almost complete, and it provided several eyebrow-raising results all the way up through the thrilling end to "Monday Night Football" between the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons.
The New Orleans Saints, Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 2-0 in the NFC (the Eagles could join them with a win). Preseason favorites and contenders such as the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans are 2-0 in the AFC, but so are the Los Angeles Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers. There are also playoff hopefuls, like the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars, among the nine teams sitting at 0-2 after an eventful Sunday in the NFL.
Division races are already taking shape. The AFC West and NFC South are the only divisions with two 2-0 teams. The entire AFC South, aside from Houston, is winless. The Texans, coincidentally, were the only team last season to start 0-2 and still make the playoffs.
After just two games, there's plenty of football left to shake things up even more. Here's how the Week 2 NFL standings look now that the results are in:
