NFL Week 12 live updates: Scores, injuries, highlights, playoff picture

The road to the NFL playoffs is paved with the dreams of postseason hopefuls.

With the NFL calendar nearing Thanksgiving, the playoff picture is slowly coming into focus. Division races and wild-card standings will be settled over the coming month, with 14 teams vying for two spots in Super Bowl 59.

But first, Week 12. Sunday's slate features a fair amount of intriguing matchups, highlighted by the 49ers vs. the Packers, with the two NFC playoff stalwarts renewing their rivalry at 4:25 p.m. ET. Elsewhere, the Vikings and Bears highlight a Sunday filled with division matchups.

Sunday also will play home to some potential returns and some new-look offenses. Isiah Pacheco is expected to return for the Chiefs from injury. The Giants are also returning a notable name, as quarterback Tommy DeVito will take over for Daniel Jones, who is now searching for his next team.

USA TODAY Sports will provide updates, highlights and more from the Week 12 Sunday matchups, including news, highlights, injuries, inactives and more.

Final score: Packers 38, 49ers 10

Green Bay took care of business against a 49ers squad missing several key players, including quarterback Brock Purdy. Packers running back Josh Jacobs rushed for 106 yards and three touchdowns in the game.

Final score: Broncos 29, Raiders 19

The Broncos won their first road game against the Raiders since the Silver and Black moved to Las Vegas. Denver remains the No. 7 seed in the AFC playoff picture with the win as it moves to 7-5 on the year.

Final score: Seahawks 16, Cardinals 6

The Seahawks take over first place in the NFC West with their win over Arizona at home. Both teams are now 6-5, but Seattle takes the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Week 12 win. The two teams will meet again in Week 14.

Coby Bryant returns Kyler Murray interception for a touchdown

Bryant took advantage of an ill-advised throw from the Cardinals quarterback to snag his first interception of the season. After making the takeaway, the Seahawks cornerback raced down the sideline for a 69-yard pick-6.

Final score: Vikings 30, Bears 27

The Vikings defeated the Bears in an overtime thriller at Soldier Field. Jordan Addison led the way with eight receptions for 162 yards and a touchdown. Minnesota improved to 9-2 and remains one game behind the Lions in the NFC North.

Final score: Titans 32, Texans 27

The Titans shocked the AFC-South leading Texans on the road. Will Levis connected with tight end Chig Okonkwo for a go-ahead 70-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Final score: Cowboys 34, Commanders 26

In one of the wildest finishes yet in the 2024 season, the Cowboys upset the Commanders on the road behind an electric 99-yard kickoff return by KaVontae Turpin.

Final score: Chiefs 30, Panthers 27

The defending Super Bowl champions escape Carolina with a 30-27 win after a walk-off 31-yard field goal. The Chiefs bounced back after suffering their first loss against the Bills last week. Carolina and former No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young impressed but ultimately fell short.

Final score: Dolphins 34, Patriots 15

The Dolphins stay in the AFC playoff hunt with an impressive win over the Patriots. Jaylen Waddle reeled in 8 catches for 144 yards and a touchdown in the win.

Final score: Buccaneers 30, Giants 7

The Buccaneers gained ground on the Falcons in a tight NFC South after a dominant 30-7 win over Tommy DeVito and the New York Giants. Bucky Irving led the way with 151 total yards and a score.

Final score: Lions 24, Colts 6

The Detroit Lions improved to 10-1 after roaring their way to a 24-6 win on the road against the Colts. Jahmyr Gibbs led the way with 90 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

David Montgomery injury update

David Montgomery, Detroit's bruising star running back, departed late in the third quarter of Sunday's game with an apparent injury. He walked back to the locker room without a jersey or shoulder pads on, an ominous sign of his availability going forward.

Montgomery exited in the third quarter against the Colts and is officially questionable to return with a shoulder injury.

Baker Mayfield trolls Giants with touchdown celebration

With just seconds to go before halftime, Mayfield set his GPS destination to the end zone, scampering in for the 10-yard score. Upon arrival, Mayfield, who is always in the mood to troll, began to celebrate in familiar fashion.

Mayfield's arms rose to the sky with pinched fingers and shaking wrists in Tommy DeVito's backyard, letting his opposite number know that there's a new Italian sheriff in town.

Caleb Williams makes dazzling throw vs. Vikings

Brian Robinson Jr. injury update

Robinson would return to the game after a locker room visit. He was initially listed as "questionable" from the Commanders.

Brian Robinson Jr. left the game early in the first quarter, with 11:25 on the clock. He was rolled up on his first carry of the game and was slow to get to his feet.

Daniel Jones landing spots: Latest rumors

The Ravens are the team that have been named the most in reporting from NFL insiders on Sunday morning.

ESPN's Adam Schefter, Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz and Rapoport have all listed Baltimore as one of Jones' top suitors ahead of his pending free agency, all pointing to various factors. But it's also far from the only team interested in bringing in the former Giant.

Schefter pointed specifically to the Ravens and Vikings on Sunday morning because of Jones' willingness to sign with a playoff team. That being the case, the ESPN insider said that "what happens in Week 12 is expected to influence his decision."

Isiah Pacheco injury update

Chiefs coach Andy Reid told reporters on Wednesday, Nov. 20, that the team was taking things "day-by-day" with Pacheco ahead of the team's Week 12 game against the Carolina Panthers.

Reid provided a positive update about the running back's status during that same media availability.

"He’s a spark plug, emotionally. He’s something that way, and he’s worked his tail off to get to the point he’s at now," Reid said. "We’ve got to keep an eye on him that way. He would’ve played three weeks ago if he had his choice, but that’s sometimes how it goes. I appreciate that mentality. That’s what’s helped him get to this point."

Will Mike Evans play this week?

Yes. Evans was limited in practice on Wednesday, a full participant on Thursday, and limited again on Friday but said he will be good to go.

During a recent interview, Evans noted he probably should have sat out the matchup against the Ravens in Week 7, a game in which he left in the second quarter due to the hamstring injury.

Giants release QB Daniel Jones

Daniel Jones expressed his thank yous and regrets to the New York Giants on Thursday in what sounded like an emotional goodbye from the quarterback to the organization following his demotion earlier in the week.

Turns out, that's exactly what it was.

Team owner John Mara announced a parting of the ways with Jones on Friday and offered a further explanation regarding the team's divorce from its 2019 first-round pick, who was expected to be the longtime successor to two-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning.

Aaron Rodgers facing 'uphill battle' to remain Jets QB in 2025

Aaron Rodgers has had something of a nightmare stay in Florham Park since his 2023 trade landed him in a Jets uniform. After playing just four snaps in 2023 and 11 games in 2024, his tenure as leader of Gang Green may soon come to an end.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Jets passer faces an "uphill battle" to return as starting quarterback come 2025, signaling a relatively quick divorce for the two sides.

Aaron Rodgers injury update

Rodgers has been hobbled by some injuries of unknown severity. According to Rapoport, Rodgers has resisted getting scans done to avoid revealing the severity of his injuries out of fear of having to come off the field. Rodgers has remained adamant about playing through these injuries. His play has been subpar this season, but it's difficult to point to the injuries, his age or some combination of both for that reason.

New York is on a bye in Week 12, but they return next Sunday to host the Seattle Seahawks at MetLife Stadium.
