Nick Bosa fined by NFL for crashing interview wearing MAGA hat

San Francisco 49ers star defensive end Nick Bosa was fined by the NFL after he crashed a postgame interview wearing a MAGA hat.

The league fined Bosa $11,255 after he crashed the live interview after his team’s win against the Dallas Cowboys late last month, a league source told CNN.

Bosa spoke with the media after it was announced the presidential race would go for President-elect Trump. He said if the NFL fined him for jumping into the interview, it wouldn’t matter much to him.

“I don’t know,” he said Wednesday when asked if he thought he would get a fine. “I haven’t gotten one yet, but if it comes, it comes.”

He added that he knew he could get a fine from the NFL, but it was “well worth it” to wear the hat.

The NFL has rules that throughout game day, when a player is visible to the stadium and those watching at home, they are prohibited from wearing or displaying personal messages that have not been approved.

Bosa said his position supporting Trump is not going to change, saying the “nation spoke” in the election.

After he crashed the postgame interview, he was asked during a press conference about his political statement. He said he wasn’t going to speak too much on the topic but called it an important time.

Bosa was also asked whether he was tempted to show support for Trump in the past. He said it’s “definitely a little easier nowadays” but he doesn’t feel “too inclined” to publicly support the president-elect.

Bosa and Trump met at the UFC fight in Miami earlier this year and took a picture with Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
