Nicolas Kuhn mega Celtic price tag floated after Fulham and Brentford 'inquiries' as winger drops hint on future

Johan Mjallby reckons Celtic will demand a fee in the region of £30m if they are to sell Nicolas Kuhn in January.

It comes after reports suggest that the in-form winger is being tracked by Premier League sides Fulham and Brentford with the January transfer window rapidly approaching. The 24-year-old has been a revelation for the Premiership leaders so far this season scoring 10 goals and provided 11 assists across all competitions - including an eye-catching display in the Champions League against RB Leipzig.

With Brendan Rodgers' eyeing domestic dominance as well as progress from the league phase in Europe's elite competition he is unlikely to want to part with the star of the season so far - but Sky Germany report that Fulham and Brentford "have already inquired about" the wide man and "are monitoring his situation". It has previously been reported that Celtic value him at €10million (£8.4million) after his £3million arrival from Rapid Vienna last January, with the player under contract until until 2029.

However, ex Celt Mjallby reckons a bid of similar value to what Brighton paid for Matt O'Riley could force the hand of the Hoops board. Pressed on what kind of bid it would take for the Scottish champions to sell Kuhn in January, Mjallby told The Scottish Football Social Club: “I’m pretty sure they will do everything to keep him.

"He is on fire and in a way he is like a new signing this summer. For the first six months it was stop-start for him, he had this tooth problem and didn’t really show what he is all about. But he is perfect for the way Brendan Rodgers wants his team to play as well.

"It’s not going to happen. Maybe if they come in with a ridiculous bid - we are talking about Matt O’Riley figures - but if it’s going to happen, it’s going to happen next summer.”

And after a scintillating start to the season, Kuhn doesn't appear to be in any rush to leave Glasgow's east end as he gushed about the atmosphere at Celtic Park. He told Kicker: "I've said it often enough, you have to be here to understand what an atmosphere it is."

He also confessed to dreaming of a call up the German national team as his ultimate dream: "I want to get into the national team. There's still another goal"

Asked what he felt he could offer to boss Julian Nagelsman he added: "I am a very fast-paced player who often looks for one-on-one situations, who creates as many chances as possible. I have an eye for the final pass.".
