'I have no doubts' - Former star makes Angel Gomes to Manchester United transfer prediction
Former striker Andy Cole is confident England international Angel Gomes would turn Manchester United into "a better team" if he was to return to Old Trafford.
Gomes, 24, is out-of-contract at French club Lille next summer and reports linking him with a return to United have increased over the last few months.
The midfielder, who was given his England debut by former interim boss Lee Carsley in September, left Old Trafford in June 2020 after turning down the offer of a new contract. After joining United at the age of six, he made just 10 senior appearances for the club before departing.

Gomes, who is a neat and tidy operator when in possession of the ball, has gone from strength-to-strength at Lille since joining them on a five-year deal in August 2020. As a result, speculation about his future is ramping up now that he has entered the final 12 months of his current deal.
United have been linked with the possibility of bringing him back to Old Trafford, and it is a prospective move former goal-getter Cole would be only too happy to see come to fruition.
"Being very honest, I was disappointed to see Angel Gomes leave in the first place," Cole told Betfred.
"He's a very talented young man and you're always going to have that type of nonsense where people say that he was too small for the Premier League and all that, but he's moved to France, made a very good career for himself and represented England quite a few times, so fair play to him.
"If that move was to happen, I have no doubts that he'd make Manchester United a better team."
