Gustaf Lagerbielke has yet to start a league game for FC Twente.

But the £3million Celtic flop believes there's still a chance the Dutch side will sign him permanently next summer. Lagerbielke was shipped out on loan to FC Twente after a difficult debut season at Parkhead. The Swede struggled to make his mark under Brendan Rodgers and was handed an opportunity to kickstart his career in the Eredivisie but has clocked up just 221 minutes of game time.

However, the former Elfsborg defender insists he's still enjoying his time in the Netherlands and revealed a decision will be made in the summer regarding his next move.

"It is a straight loan until the summer", he told Fotbollskanalen. "Then there is always the possibility that I will be bought. So far it’s felt very good there so we’ll see how it goes forward."

Lagerbielke is still under contract at Parkhead until 2028 and while the move to Glasgow hasn't worked out, the 24-year-old says there's still a chance he'll be back at Lennoxtown next summer.

"There is always that [chance of going back to Celtic]. I still have a contract there. It’s not out of the question at all. Then I’ll have to see closer to the end of the season what happens with everything. But it’s a fantastic club."
