What Ole Gunnar Solskjaer texted Ruud van Nistelrooy before Man United interim spell
Manchester United interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy has revealed how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was one of many former teammates to wish him good luck for his short spell in the dug-out at Old Trafford.
Van Nistelrooy was placed in interim charge on Monday afternoon after Erik ten Hag's sacking. He guided the Red Devils to a 5-2 win over Leicester City in the EFL Cup and will oversee the next three games.

On Sunday, Van Nistelrooy will lock horns with Enzo Maresca and Chelsea in a fixture that could play a telling role in Amorim's start. United are currently 14th in the Premier League but could climb as high as eighth with three points.
After Wednesday's win and performance, the feeling has been one of optimism among the supporters. Van Nistelrooy has revealed that former teammates of his have been in touch to wish the Dutchman luck in his stint as interim boss.
Speaking ahead of the game against Chelsea, Van Nistelrooy was asked if anyone had reached out. He said: "Yes, I spoke shortly with Sir Alex. He wished me luck before the [Leicester] game.
"You know, Ole sent me a text to wish me luck, as [did] many former players that reached out and just sent me a text, [wishing] all the best. It was great to receive all these messages."
