Olivier Giroud

Former Arsenal and Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has confirmed the next step in his career after announcing he will leave AC Milan.

Giroud enjoyed successful spells in the Premier League with both the Gunners and the Blues during his career. The France international left Chelsea in 2021 to complete a move to Milan in Serie A.

The 37-year-old spent five-and-a-half seasons with Arsenal, scoring 105 goals in 253 appearances and winning three FA Cups, before he left in 2018 to join Chelsea.

The striker enjoyed more than three years at Stamford Bridge, scoring 39 goals and winning the Champions League and Europa League.

Now Giroud has confirmed the next step in his career after announcing that he will leave Milan this summer. The former Arsenal striker confirmed that he will be making the switch to Major League Soccer in the United States, with reports in recent weeks claiming that he will be joining LAFC in Los Angeles with his move to the States now confirmed.

"I'm here to tell you that the next two games will be my last for Milan. My career will continue in the MLS," Giroud told MilanTV.

"I'm very proud of everything I've done here at Milan across three seasons. It's the right time to announce it.

"Excuse me, I'm a bit emotional. So, yeah, my story with Milan ends this year but Milan will forever remain in my heart."

Since making the switch to Italy, Giroud has scored 48 in 130 appearances for Milan including 16 in all competitions this season. The striker played a key role in helping Milan win the Serie A title two years ago, and will now be looking ahead to the next step in his career in the United States.
