Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo has had a lot to celebrate recently.

On August 3, the 24-year-old became the Philippines’ first male gold medalist in the Olympic Games by winning the Men’s Floor Exercise, and he followed up on his impressive performance the following day by earning another gold in the Men’s Vault Final on August 4. Despite his massive wins, Yulo’s biggest prizes might still be waiting for him when he returns home to the Philippines following the Games.

On August 1, the real estate company Megaworld announced that any Filipino Olympian who won gold in Paris would receive a fully furnished two-bedroom condo in their McKinley Hill development.

Following Yulo’s pair of golden performances — the Philippines' second and third gold medals ever in the Olympics — the corporation upped the ante, now offering the two-time Olympian a three-bedroom condo instead.

“Since this is a very significant milestone in the history of Philippine sports to have two gold Olympic medals during our 100th year participation as a country in the Olympics, which also coincides with our company’s 35th anniversary this year, we are boosting our reward for Carlos Yulo," Megaworld president Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso stated in a press release.

The McKinley Hill township, a residential and commercial development spanning 50 hectares, is located in Taguig City within the metropolitan area of Manila. According to Megaworld’s website, the development is “inspired by cities in Italy and Spain,” and “brings to the Philippines the sophisticated culture of Southern Europe.”

To create the desired European charm, the neighborhood features a Venetian-themed shopping mall called the Venice Grand Canal, and residential areas named after various cities, such as the Tuscany Private Estates.

After weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz won the country’s first-ever gold medal for weightlifting at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, she received a free condo in the company’s Eastwood development in Quezon City.

Announcing the reward, Gutierrez-Alfonso called McKinley Hill the “perfect home for Filipino champions who live a life of passion and excellence through and through.”

But the condo isn’t the only property Yulo, known by to Filipinos by the nickname “Caloy,” is set to receive after his performance in Paris. Along with a prize of 20 million Philippine pesos (around $346,000), the state-run Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. will also award him with an unspecified house in the area of Tagaytay, just outside of Manila.

Other branches of the Philippine government are chipping in to celebrate the artistic gymnast, as the Philippine House of Representatives announced a 6-million-peso gift (around $104,000) on August 5, doubling their earlier sum of 3 million pesos.
