Ophir Rugby Club gearing up for launch of Preschool initiative
Ophir Rugby Club is gearing up or the launch of its exciting new Preschool programme. The initiative will kick-off this Saturday, November 2 at Ulster University Jordanstown.
The project aims to introduce children aged three to five to the exciting world of rugby in a fun and supportive environment.
The Preschool programme focuses on engaging young children through age-appropriate games and activities, fostering essential skills such as coordination, balance and teamwork. Beyond physical development, the programme encourages social interaction and confidence-building among participants, creating a positive foundation for future rugby experiences.

Matthew Campbell, Mini Rugby Convenor at Ophir Rugby Club, said: “We’re incredibly excited to launch the Preschool Rugby programme at Ophir Rugby Club. This initiative is a fantastic opportunity for our youngest players to discover the joy of rugby in a fun and friendly environment.

About Ophir Minis Rugby
Ophir Minis is the entry-level programme at Ophir Rugby Club for children aged 5 to 11. It introduces young players to the basics of rugby through games and activities focused on teamwork and skill development.
Led by experienced coaches, Ophir Minis encourages physical fitness, social skills, and confidence.
Training is held every Saturday at 9:30 am at Ulster University Jordanstown.
