Palmer, Colwill, Sancho - Latest Chelsea injury news and return dates for Leicester clash

Enzo Maresca has been handed several welcome Chelsea injury boosts ahead of the Premier League clash against Leicester City at King Power Stadium. The 44-year-old returns to his former club with the Blues having made a great start to the 2024/25 season.

A number of Chelsea stars that were set for international duty remained in west London to recover from minor issues. Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill were the two big names from that group with Maresca having largely avoided any major injury issues.

Concerns that would be ending were quite high but they have since been eased significantly courtesy of the latest set of training images. With that said, football.london has rounded up the latest Chelsea injury news before the clash against Leicester.

Cole Palmer

Injury: Unknown

After recovering from a knee injury to play the full 90 minutes against Arsenal, Palmer pulled out of England duty. He has since been captured in Monday's training session at Cobham, suggesting he will be fine to feature this weekend.

Jadon Sancho

Injury: Unknown

Sancho has been plagued by a number of issues over the last few weeks but has finally been spotted back in team training.

What Maresca said: "He had a knock in the session. He is out for tomorrow, and we will see if he is available [this weekend] or after the international break."

Levi Colwill

Injury: Unknown

Colwill also surprisingly departed England camp, but like Palmer, has been seen back in Chelsea training.

Malo Gusto

Gusto returned early to west London from France Under-21 duty and is therefore a doubt to make the Leicester clash.

Injury: Ankle/foot.

Romeo Lavia

Injury: Hamstring.

What Lavia said: ""I received a little blow. At the moment, we are testing to see if it is okay, but it should be fine, I think."

What Belgium boss Domenico Tedesco said: "I think Romeo has a hamstring problem. It was bothering him this morning, and we didn't want to risk him."

Wesley Fofana

Injury: Knee.

Fofana also looks to be dealing with an injury having departed withdrawn from France's Nations League fixtures.

Omari Kellyman

Summer signing Kellyman has missed the last few months because of a hamstring injury, but is expected back soon.

Injury: Hamstring.

Possible return date: December.
