Hamilton Accies slumped to their second successive Championship defeat as Partick Thistle ran riot at Firhill.

Scott Robinson had Jags home and dry inside 20 minutes with a simple double as Hamilton's defence stood static, moving his side consolidated fourth place.

Brian Graham added a second-half double, with Logan Chalmers also getting in on the act after Kevin O'Hara had pulled a goal back for Accies ahead of the break.

Results elsewhere, meant Hamilton dropped down to seventh.

Scott Robinson put Thistle on their way after just five minutes with a neat finish. However, having to a hand to it, Charlie Albinson should have done better

Robinson added his second in 19 minutes when he headed into the bet, after O'Reilly had knocked down a Logan Chalmers corner from the right.

Hamilton were unexpectedly brought back into the game just before the interval when O'Hara took advantage of a goalkeeper error by Myles Roberts to fire into the empty net.

But Graham put the game back beyond reach in 49 minutes with a brave header.

Chalmers took advantage of a poor clearance by Albinson to add a fourth in 65 minutes, and Graham scored his second and Thistle's fifth just 60 seconds later.

Partick Thistle boss Kris Doolan made one change to the side that drew with Raith Rovers last weekend, as Aidan Fitzpatrick came in for injured Kanayo Megwa.

Accies head coach John Rankin also made a single change to the side that lost 3-1 at home to Livingston last time out, with Oli Shaw coming back in for Ben Williamson.

Thistle attacked from the start and nearly took the lead inside 90 seconds when first Chalmers and Graham had shots well blocked by Stephen Hendrie.

But the hosts took the lead in five minutes when Aidan Fitzpatrick played a neat through-ball to Robinson and he kept his composure to fire past Charlie Albinson, and into the bottom right corner.

Kyle Turner's cross from the right was headed high and wide of the right post corner by Robbie Crawford in 10 minutes, as Thistle tried to add to their lead.

And Chalmers' run down the right was ended with Hendrie stabbing the ball out for a corner as Graham lurked.

Turner's free kick was headed by Harry Milne and tipped over in 18 minutes.

But Thistle's second goal was only delayed by moments as Chalmers' corner from the right was nodded back into the box by O'Reilly for Robinson to head past Albinson.

Hamilton tried to hit back and in 22 minutes Euan Henderson sent a curling shot off the crossbar from just outside the box.

Milne blazed over the bar from outside the box in 29 minutes as Thistle tried to turn the screw.

But Hamilton unexpectedly found their way back into the game in 45 minutes when keeper Roberts made a mess of an O'Reilly pass-back, playing it straight to O'Hara, who rolled it into the empty net.

The next goal in this game was always going to be crucial and Thistle got it just four minutes into the half when Robinson sent Graham through on goal and he headed the ball over outrushing Albinson into the net.

The game was over as a contest by that point, but Thistle weren't finished and added a fourth in 65 minutes when Chalmers chased down a pass-back and when Albinson struck it off of him, the Jags star kept his composure to smash an angled shot into the left corner.

And they made it five just 60 seconds later when Aidan Fitzpatrick raced down the left and his cut-back was tapped in by Graham.

Milne nearly added a sixth in 86 minutes, but his 19-yard piledriver was punched past the left post by Albinson.

Hamilton ended the game with 10 men as Connor Smith limped off injured.
