Philippe Clement has told Jim Goodwin to expect his Rangers players to come out all guns blazing against Dundee United after the Tannadice boss vowed to make the Ibrox crowd turn on their team on Saturday.

Irishman Goodwin takes his team to Govan knowing that a victory could potentially move United above the Gers into third place in the Premiership. The former St Mirren and Aberdeen manager has also questioned the character in the Rangers dressing room and has called on his players to create 'nervous tension' at Ibrox tomorrow.

But Clement has now issued a firm response to his counterpart and is confident his men will have the last laugh come 5pm on Saturday afternoon. He said: ‘Yes, I’m confident about that. I like when other people motivate my players. Dundee United is a tough opponent who are having a really good season but we’re going to throw everything from our side to win the game."

John Souttar has won praise for his two performances for Scotland against Croatia and Poland during the recent international break and Clement believes it shows just how far the Rangers defender has come. He added: He played two really impressive games," Clement added: "I think everyone's seeing he's been making some really big steps forward the last couple of months, in every sense of football and personality."
