Philippe Clement says Rangers win at Aberdeen could change 'perception' at Ibrox
Philippe Clement insists it's too early to be worried by the league table as Rangers attempt to claw back Aberdeen's six-point lead.
Gers face the Premiership co-leaders in tomorrow's mouthwatering clash at Pittodrie knowing that a defeat could leave them with a mountain to climb. Jimmy Thelin has led the Dons to a remarkable 15-game unbeaten run, with his only 'blemish' a 2-2 draw away to champions Celtic. A tenth consecutive home victory on Wednesday would move the Granite City men nine clear of third-placed Rangers and potentially into top spot, depending on Celtic's result against Dundee at Parkhead.
And while under-pressure Clement is refusing to concern himself with the early league standings, the Belgian confesses a morale-boosting victory could change lift the mood around Ibrox and change the narrative around his struggling side.

He said: "We're not busy with that [the league table because it's early in the season. It's about us taking the points. We need to take the points and focus on that. After this game, we're now a quarter of the way through the season.
"Last season, we came back, we were in front and in the end you don't get the title. So it's about us taking the points and not looking at the others because you lose time and energy thinking about that. It's about us raising our levels.
"We have to win every game. We have to win the first game of the season and we have to win the last game of the season. There's no difference in that. You always want to win every game. There is a lot of confidence and belief in the team. It would help from the outside, the perception around the team and the evolution that the team is making. In that way, it can help a lot.
"But, all the team has the confidence to go there, get a good result. But there's also a lot of respect towards Aberdeen and what they have been doing since the beginning of the season and how they've played and taken their points. It's going to be a huge battle, like they showed against other good teams in the league."
