Philippe Clement trolled by Celtic TV as Rangers boss butt of cheeky joke
Celtic ran riot on their Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Aberdeen yesterday, and their commentary team couldn’t resist a pop at their rival’s manager in the process.
After Nicolas Kuhn put his side five goals to the good, there was a VAR check as the officials scrutinised a potential offside in the build-up against summer record-signing Arne Engels. The goal was indeed given was no infringement occurring in the ever-so-tight call, which had echoes of a recent decision that went against Rangers.
Philippe Clement had said after his side’s Pittodrie defeat against Aberdeen that attacker Ross McCausland was a “toenail” away from being onside as they had a strike ruled out. After Kuhn’s goal was given, Celtic hero Peter Grant who was doing commentary work for Celtic TV quipped there was “a definite toenail” in it, with Gerry McCulloch adding, “Those toenails are important.”

Celtic added another goal after Kuhn’s, which was Daizen Maeda’s third of the evening, as they hammered the Dons with six unanswered strikes as Brendan Rodgers' side navigated their way to the competition’s final with ease.
Clement is underfire from his own fans as performances and results have led to many calling for a managerial change at Ibrox.
