Pierce Charles attracting Premier League interest with clubs monitoring Northern Ireland star
Pierce Charles could be set for a move away from Sheffield Wednesday with a number of Premier League clubs said to be interested in the teenage goalkeeper.
It has been a stellar few months for Charles as he impressed for club and country. Michael O'Neill handed him his senior debut against Belarus in October and he went on to play in the next three Nations League games. The 19-year-old also made a big impression for the Owls earning rave reviews for his display against Brentford in the Carabao Cup.
Those performances haven't gone unnoticed it seems with The Star reporting that several Premier League clubs have watched Charles in action in recent weeks.

The young stopper is highly regarded at Hillsborough given his skillset and his ability to play out from the back so it is is unknown how an approach for Charles would be received by the EFL Championship club, but it would seem he would command a large transfer fee if he was allowed to leave.
England under-21 stopper James Beadle is the current number one at Wednesday, but he is currently on a season-long loan at the club from Brighton. Owls boss Danny Röhl has spoken of Charles' "high potential" and didn't rule out the player becoming first choice next season.
“We want to improve him (Charles), I think it was helpful in the last weeks and months that we had cup games to give him opportunities against League One, League Two, Championship and now a team at Premier League level," he said. “I am very proud of him and his improvement. I think we worked very close with Sal (Bibbo, goalkeeping coach) and we see something in him, but let's see how we can bring him to the next level.”
