WANDERERS (3-4-2-1).

NATHAN BAXTER…6.

A relatively quiet night for the Bolton keeper with just the one save of note and some routine work with the back line with the ball at his feet.

GETHIN JONES…7.

Wasn’t expected to last 90 minutes and looked in good nick. Quick when he needed to be, and was tidy on the ball too.

WILL FORRESTER…6.

One of the players who would certainly have appreciated the midweek run out, he did the basics well enough and got in a few good blocks in front of goal.

GEORGE JOHNSTON…5.5.

Might appreciate a weekend off after putting in a gargantuan shift recently. Didn’t see too much of the ball and was a little wayward at times.

JOSH DACRES-COGLEY…6.

A key touch for the second goal and did his best to get forward all night, renewing that link with Jones which has worked well in the past.

SONNY SHARPLES-AHMED…6.5.

Enjoyed a terrific first half and though the legs were wobbling a little towards the end he also put in a delightful deep cross in the build-up to Collins’ winner.

JAY MATETE…5.

Lost possession a few times deep in his own half and just didn’t look to get to the pace of the game for much of the night.

RANDELL WILLIAMS…5.5.

Though Wanderers virtually ignored their left side for a lot of the night, Williams lost possession too many times when he did get the ball.

KLAIDI LOLOS…5.

An opportunity to lay down a marker but one he didn’t take. Wasn’t sharp enough when he needed to be in the opposition half.

AARON COLLINS…7.5.

Not a vintage display by any measure but he scored twice and his running on the ball always kept Fleetwood’s defenders on high alert.

VICTOR ADEBOYEJO…4.5.

But for an acrobatic volley in the first half Adeboyejo really didn’t do enough to get himself into the game. Seemed to be running away from the areas he needed to occupy.

Subs: McAtee 72 (for Lolos).

Not used: Hutchinson, Andreucci, Matheson, Inwood, Lewis, Irwin.

Fleetwood (3-5-2): Hewitson; Hughes, Shaw, Potter; Johnston, Virtue, Helm, Broom, Patterson; Graydon, Harratt.

Subs: Odubeko 69 (Harratt), Not used: Bellizia, Bolton, Mayor, Devonport, Smith, McLean.

Referee: Elliott Bell – 7/10.

One penalty shout on Williams that looked like it had a chance and a fairly harsh yellow card for Forrester for a high boot but nothing of real consequence for the official, who had a perfectly reasonable night.

Attendance: 1,607.

MAN OF THE MATCH – Aaron Collins.

On a night that was all about achieving a positive outcome with the minimum of fuss, his two goals did exactly what it said on the tin. Hopefully a spark which can get him back to the type of form he was in at the end of last season.

MOAN OF THE MATCH – Bolton really struggled for width at times, Williams virtually a bystander in the first half as everything funnelled down the right side, with not a yard to spare in the centre of the park. Their in-possession work was fairly sloppy all night.

MAGIC MOMENT – Credit to Fleetwood keeper Luke Hewitson for a couple of marvellous saves, the stand-out being an instinctive parry to push John McAtee’s snap volley around the post in the second half.

ATMOSPHERE – Null and void. The lowest crowd for eight years were not treated to a classic. It might have been louder at the snooker.
