Plymouth Argyle are set to face a crucial period of three successive games at Home Park in only nine days next month when they will look to pick up points in their Championship survival quest.

There has been confirmation tonight that the Pilgrims' postponed match against Oxford United on December 7 has been rearranged for Tuesday, January 14, with a 7.45pm kick-off. The fixture was called off due to safety concerns after very strong winds were forecast for Storm Darragh.

The visit of Oxford, last season's League One Play-Off Final winners, to the Theatre of Greens will be the first of the three consecutive home matches for Argyle.

They will then host Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, January 18 in a 12.30pm kick-off, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports +, before taking on Burnley on Wednesday, January 22. That match will be live on Sky Sports Football and kick-off at 8pm.

Argyle will come up against Oxford before January 14, however. They will travel to play the U's at the Kassam Stadium on Sunday, December 29 (3pm).

Oxford are currently in 20th position, one point above the 23rd-placed Pilgrims, after losing 3-1 at home to Sheffield Wednesday yesterday and sacked head coach Des Buckingham today, so the two matches between the clubs could have a large bearing on the battle against Championship relegation.
